Zero Waste Management System in All Units
Within the scope of the Zero Waste Project regulation initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Zero Waste Management System, which is a seven-stage roadmap consisting of the steps that companies, institutions or organizations must implement in order to be included in Zero Waste, was established in all units of Turkish-German University. Within the scope of the Zero Waste Management System, zero waste bins were placed in the areas used by staff and students. In this way, TGU, which separates waste at the source and contributes to the recycling process with the temporary waste storage area created, has earned the right to receive the Zero Waste Certificate issued by the Istanbul Governorship Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization.
According to waste separation data, 15,967 kg of paper, 7,801 kg of plastic, 729 kg of glass and 277 kg of metal were separated in our University between 15.04.2019 and 31.12.2021.
